Using advanced MRI technology such as diffusion tensor imaging and magnetization transfer imaging we quantify the integrity of relevant white matter tracts that carry motor and sensory information in the brain and spinal cord and evaluate their relationship to physical impairments and function.

Use of body-worn sensors can accurately capture information about disability in a real-world context, not just in the laboratory. This is critical information for developing biomarkers that are more sensitive to disease progression and responsive to interventions.
